Fading light, darker days...

I took this picture at sunset (7:12pm) during the Autumn equinox on 22nd September this year:

It was a pathetic sunset as you can see due to the thick cloud cover, but it marked the start of shorter days for the next 6 months.
Sunset today is in less than an hour from now as I type this (exactly 6:28pm) so in 13 days we've already lost 44 minutes of daylight. Soon it will be going to work in darkness and coming home in darkness, I can't stand Winter for that reason and many more!

One day I shall be free and rich enough to switch hemisphere every 6 months to avoid Winter, but until then I guess I'll just have to dig out the wooly hats and raincoats for another year Sad

Great photo. I noticed the same here in the UAE It happened all of a sudden as well. It's all of a sudden getting dark after five. Only difference of course is that the best weather in the UAE is during the "winter" here. At least the heat is bearable now. By December it will be nice balmy days.

I'm jealous haha!
Miserable cold and rain to look forward to here, OK it'll be warmer than the same latitude across the Atlantic in Canada, but if Winter had a fast forward button I'd definitely be pressing it in the next few weeks Razz
