TORBAY'S tourism industry is over the moon with a new pop video made by highly-rated band Metronomy.

The promotional film, for the band's new single The Bay, was leaked on the website of influential music magazine the NME.

I've never been a genre slave and have a pretty wide range of musical tastes, so although this new release is almost flirting a little too much with 80's electro-pop for me, I do like their video because it's filmed in the bay here - and also because my house can be clearly seen in one of the scenes filmed from a helicopter.

I do really like this next track from their new album though (below), it's grown on me after listening a couple of times, and I had to smile at the animated seagull thing they've done in the video, gulls really do dominate the wildlife here!

Although I have to admit they're not my usual listening line up, I do wish them the best of luck as a local band from the SW coast of England who write and perform their own stuff Smile

...so if their musical style is your cup of tea you can read more/download here...

Interesting watersoul. I'm not much on electro-pop either.
I am way too oldie preferring to hear music without a video to take away from the music (at least for the first few listenings anyway).

I know what you mean standready, I mainly like the first vid because I can see so many places within a few minutes walk from my house. The wooden decking they're all laying in one scene is just the public pier at the bottom of the cliff/hill where I live, lol.
I was fishing for mackerel there at the weekend, only got two but hey, free food high in omega 3 and Vitamin B12 Smile

...I did hear a really good remix of The Bay (first vid) at a bar here on the weekend though, but given a much more funky house feel than pop. It was also pretty good fun singing the chorus "It feels so good... In Torbay" with maybe 100+ other people.
I have to admit that a couple of alcoholic drinks may have passed my lips that evening! Wink
