Snow on the southwest coast finally!

At last, the white stuff has finally made it here Smile
Not a huge amount I'll admit, but enough for me and my lad to have a snowball fight!
It seemed everyone in the UK had snow except us for the last few weeks and although it is melting fast, it's been enough to satisfy my childish excitement.

Smiley car...

Although I like snow, it took me an hour to clean my car today. The first few centimeters froze on the car because it was first raining and only then started to snow.

I'll admit, I probably wouldn't want it snowing for more than a week, but it's so rare here that I can't help but enjoy it.
What is really amazing is that we've had snow twice in the same year, the last time being January/February, never actually seen a sprinkling of the white stuff here in December.

...I'm not going to love the gas (heating) bill when it comes in March thats for sure!

The same here in Belgium, this and the last winter were quite cold/snowy. It snowed quite a lot the previous winter and I can already say the same about this winter and it just started.

Before that, we wer lucky if it snowed once or twice in a year and most of the time it melted during the same day.

That's surprised me to be honest, I always imagined Belgium to be a totally snow filled landscape in winter. Never actually been there (will go one day though), but my assumption has always been that you have the more 'continental' cold that we usually escape on this little island.

Looking at the current weather patterns though it seems like we're all looking forward to that lovely Arctic air flowing south now Shocked

Oh no, for that you need to go further east, to the east of Germany and Poland. In Belgium we are next to the North Sea, which causes it to be a lot warmer here than more in the East.

Lol, of course, you're just across the water from us, I suppose I was thinking more inland.
One of my close friends is in a relationship with a Czech girl and just came back from 'meeting the family' over there, he says it's absolutely freezing and he was glad to be back!

It's snowing again in Belgium. I just measured the amount of snow, on our terrace, we got 11.5cm of snow (4,53 inch Razz ) and it's still snowing... Very Happy *

* Because I don't have to go anywhere it's: Very Happy , tomorrow it will probably be: Sad

That made me laugh, totally know what you mean, I guess our love of snow is kind of determined by how much it's an inconvenience to our lives! Smile

Here in the US midwest, We have snow and worst, COLD! It has been 10-15 degrees F colder than average in December. I am lucky though, another 30 miles east, they get "lake effect" snow off of Lake Michigan. Last snow, I got maybe 2 inches, east of me got over 2 feet thanks to the lake.
