If god exists "it" kills good people

I don't personally believe in god because if there was a "perfect" being who regulated the world in perfection then many good people I knew and loved would not have died unjustly as they have.
A perfect god would kill off the ones he/she/it deemed a waste of Earths resources first and not the people who actually help the world he/she/it supposedly created.
Equally, no gender (male/female) is superior to another, so any supposed god would have to be an "it" to be perfect.

I sometimes question my belief in God and the devil. I often wonder if unjust taking of someone is the work of the devil. Is it the devil that makes my parents so unbelievably hurtful?
If God did take all that are a waste, I think 80 percent of the population would be gone.

'Perfect' is (in my experience) fairly subjective. What is perfect from one POV might be highly imperfect from another.
The basic problem you hightlight - sometimes called 'the problem of evil' is a major one for any religious believer and I've never seen a satisfactory answer to it.

Cheers for the replies guys,

Standready, I reckon your 80% figure is probably close, harsh, but realistic.
BM, I've never seen a satisfactory answer to 'the problem of evil' either, I guess that's why no religion has ever got its claws into me properly.

Tut tut God, your design plan for me was definitely flawed by giving me a mind that can question things, fail. Wink

Audio worth a listen (if you haven't read the books already).
The God Delusion - Dawkins
God is not great - Chris Hitchens
Letter to a Christian Nation - Sam Harris

and finally (video)
Dan Dennett discussing his book - 'Breaking the spell'

Cheers for the link BM, have just ordered the 3 books off Amazon and listening to The God Delusion right now. It's already got me interested big time, funny line (paraphrase) about organising atheists is as difficult as herding cats with their independent minds, but when the cats all agree with some cause they can make a lot of noise! lol
