Today and yesterday have been absolutely crazy at work and outside in the street.
What is usually a mixture of "Shaun of the dead" and "Jeremy Kyle" (or Jerry Springer for US folk) at "normal" times, has turned into a curious explosion of incidents in the last two days.
A Pharmacy/Chemist/Drug store about 50 metres away is the main official Methadone issuing branch in the area (for "recovering" Heroin addicts) and we actually started thinking they'd got the doses/drugs mixed up or something, with the "sea of zombies" floating slowly past or calling in for advice.
Add to that:
The man banging his head repeatedly on the bus stop shelter outside.
The couples arguing and shouting in the street.
The stabbing yesterday afternoon with associated blood stains just outside our front door, only a leg wound though so not too serious.
The big group of drunks (some asleep and woken up) removed by the police from the church graveyard opposite.
The unusual anger & aggression from at least 3 quarters of all clients I've seen.
The Heroin user passed out around the back of the building with needle still in arm (I called the paramedics for that one, I was a bit concerned that he could be on the way to death, not cool)
And finally, the aggressive drunk man this afternoon who failed to comply with police shouts to drop the menacing empty wine bottle so felt the force of the extendable baton on his arms and then lower legs - ouch, it looked painful, but fair enough they did shout the warnings at least 3 times.
Even the owner of the local shop/convenience store next door said he's had an increase in attempted theft this week.
It's got to be the Moon! Lol
