Croyde ROC Post, Devon, England

Part of the national chain of Royal Observer Corps posts around Britain, originally intended to watch for enemy aircraft, the service was adapted during the cold war to be early warning for nuclear blasts and measure blast intensity etc.

Abandonded in the early 1990's, Croyde ROC post underground bunker was in relatively good condition during this visit in Summer 2009 - after a good hour of battling through overgrown 6 feet high Gorse bushes to get to it!
