In the beginning...

Most of my working life has been in the welfare services (social security visiting officer, social services case worker, and currently financial outreach worker for an advice organisation)
In between terms at university or after returning to the UK from travelling I've also done loads of different things like driving/security guard/digging holes/factory work/beach lifeguard etc etc etc - you think of it and I've probably tried it at least once
My job at the moment involves helping people get out of debt and negotiating with hard faced financial institutions, pulling all the financial bits of peoples messy lives together, and generally trying to make hopeless situations a little better! It can be miserable, but it mostly makes me feel good when I first visit an unhappy soul who turns into a positive happier person after I've finished working with them.
Anyway, with the way the world is at the moment, I'm just happy I've got my job - its one of the only growth industries about at the moment!
Picture showing my empty desk during a quiet point between appointments...I'm only there 2 days per week with the rest of my time visiting people in their homes, dodging dog fleas and other horrible stuff depending on how rough the client is
