I think it would be convenient if it was possible to upload pdf documents...
Other than that, why not just post mathiaus's script form before on sourceforge, and let us all work with it?
EDIT: On a side note, don't you think that you're shooting a little bit over the target so to speak? Isn't keeping it simple, and keeping most of the contest related stuff on frihost the best idea?
The Frihost Writing Contest Project.

The First Official Frihost Writing Contest (refer previous blog entries) is now done.
It was quite a success for me personally because even though it had a small number of entries, the quality was good. As you probably know, that contest was hosted at mathiaus' site, because it was related to Harry Potter, and we couldn't host it on Frihost due to Bondings' lack of time.
A lot of users have asked for the contest to become more open, and that is my intention as well. All future contests will not be completely open, but certainly not as restrictive as the last one.
The writing contest will also not be hosted on the frihost.com domain for now. I shall host it on a domain I recently registered - www.broadkast.net which is hosted by Frihost. The contest shall be available at www.frihost.broadkast.net , however, we first need to code it all in.
We are looking for anyone who has ANY experience whatsoever with PHP, CSS, XHTML, MySQL or even just IDEAS for implementation.
We plan to distribute the code as Open Source over sourceforge.net once we complete coding it, so that other sites could also take part in it.
If you want to help, register at : www.frihost.broadkast.net/forums/
Note that you can register at any time if you think you can be of any help whatsoever. There are no time limits
In the meantime, I am considering the possibility and the feasiblity of temporarily running the Writing Contest here on the forums. Will keep you updated.

I think that now you have bought your own domain you should'nt limit the site to frihost,as it has a larger potential, perhaps you could include groups in the coding and create a frishost group for the users on here.
ps: I agree with LukeakaDanish, the uploading of pdf , txt files ect would be a good thing.
pps: Ive looked at a few writing sites and this one seems to have the best set up and closest to the one you describe that you want http://www.greatwriting.co.uk/ - you could maybe steal a few ideas from there.

I'll also take a look at the site you mentioned, truespeed. We could certainly borrow a few ideas.
Also, for those of you who have any more ideas or suggestions, please join the forums and contribute, becuase that's our base of operations where everything is being decided/discussed.

I've registered on the site too.
Is there a SF project page yet?
I'm also working on a registration checker too

Hi there,
I shouldn't be any bigger problem to create a modul that can work beside of phpBB. I'm very sure that I've seen something that might could be interesting to modify to fit the www.frihost.com layout. It's just a question to get creative, and I might could do this work, but that I'm quit sure that there is much more proff php freaks out there...
Anyway do I hail the initiative.
Cheers!

Manofgames, yes, we do have an SF project page. It's loccated at http://sourceforge.net/projects/fricontest/
truespeed, I am considering that quite deeply. I will probably go for it, but not before end-November, as I am busy with a lot of things till that time.
Rosanova, thanks for the encouragement. If you have time to spare, you could register on the forums, and work with us.

If your leaving the next contest till the end of november, perhaps the theme for the next one should be a christmas theme.

Well, I have varying degrees of experience in those things, and am certainly interested in your project. Not a whole lot of free time, but hopefully some more after next month...
Do you still need help?

What is this all about??

safatech,
I might consider phpNuke, but it's not as customizable as I would like to make this contest.

Hmm why create such a code and then give it our free when you could sell it? I say this because i have learned it the hard way.

Initially when I started out at Frihost, i was rather doubtful about the concept posting in forums and get free hosting service. I decided to give it a try since its free to post. My suspicion did not end there as I waited for the approval of my hosting account. But just 2 days ago i finally received my hosting account! Since then, I had been playing around with the cPanel and a domain i bought some time back (but did not have a good hosting service). Honestly, this is a great site! I'm really impressed with the amount of effort provided to keep this service free...
As a result, I'm inspired to lend my helping hand to the project and make the contest project a success too! I had just created a forum acc over there.

I saw your post there, MK.. I just joined too. It would be interesting to work on this project, assuming there is any interest left in it.

Now that the writing project over at broadkast.net has been scrapped, will there now be a regular no fuss version on the frihost forums?
