Baptism is Sweet!

Had a sweet baptism this week. Jorge Caballero is a baker(I may have said all this before...). He, his wife(who's mom and entire family are members down in Uraguay), and his daughter were all baptized. Elder Turner and I sang the primary Hymn "I feel my saviors love" while a member played guitar. It was so awesome!!! I wish someone had recorded it. I meant to have another missionary video it on my camera, but it came a lot sooner in the program than i thought.

Elder Turner and I have stumbled upon a very interesting group of people. They follow the new testament strictly, live the law of consecration, and fed us the most delicious organic meal i've ever had. One of the men studies herbology and had way too much knowledge about plants. It was quite awesome. And he confirmed my suspicions that Eggplant extract is a cure for cancer and pharmacutical companies refuse to let the world know it because they can't make billions of dollars off of cancer research with an eggplant.... haha. So many crazy conspiracies. it was fun.

So, another week wizes on by. What fun!!!
Love you all!
Don't have too much fun an Prom Marina ^_^

The eggplant extract has my attention too? Do you know how he makes it?

I'm particularly interested, as I always thought that raw egg plant should be treated with caution since it is part of the nightshade family of plants.

It is possible that eggplants (we call it aubergines) reduce the chance of having cancer but you might as well eat carrots. Wink The compound that would be responsible for it, is Beta-carotene. And as you can see in the name "caro...", carrots have quite a lot of it (more than eggplants). Smile

On Wikipedia they also say it could increase the chances of lung cancer with high doses. Confused
Chronic, high doses of β-carotene supplements have been associated with increased rate of lung cancer among those who smoke.

Eating carrots and eggplants is probably healthy but just don't eat too much of it. Razz
