I am hoping that someone can explain this whole points process and reasoning for me. This is actually my little brother's blog and site, but... he is on a mission for our church. He isn't really allowed to mess with this because they have other tasks that they would like him to focus on for the time being. He LOVES his site though and is a great programer. He has asked us, as his family to keep up on his points so that his site doesn't get erased.
Can someone tell me how many points need to be maintained in order to be "safe". How do you earn points. Are blog posts worth a certain amount? Who do I email if I have questions? LOL Here is your chance to teach a newbie!

You earn points by posting on the forums or the Frihost Blogs (like you did). The amount of points you earn are determined by the length of your post. The minimum is 1 point and the max 5 points. Everyday 1 point is conducted (unless you're above 45, then it is reset to 45), so if you post 1 blogpost or forumpost, you should be save.
I'd kind of guessed the story of Taytay being on a mission after reading a few blog posts of 'his'
As far as points are concerned, when you fall into minus 5 points you get an email warning, then if it drops to minus 10 (I think) you get another warning with the risk that your account/hosting can be deleted without further notice.
The points drop by 1 point each day if you don't post anything, so a decent 5 point post every 5 days will fix that.
Your post I'm replying to probably got about 3-4 points so you'll be good for a couple of days. I do notice that Taytays account is in credit with points so I wouldn't worry too much as you've obviously got it covered quite well.
If you are going to be posting to keep his account active perhaps make some posts like a diary with a few interesting stories about his experiences while on his mission. I'm not religious myself but I imagine it is a difficult path trying to convert others, so I would find it interesting to read it from the perspective of the missionary - and I'm sure a few others here would as well.
Good luck with it anyway, and just for info, this post of mine is probably a 5 pointer
*Edit* Yep, I got 5 points!
*Edit again* Adri beat me to it!
@watersoul: Speed is my middle name. (figuratively of course)
Nice of you to keep up your brother points while he is away helping the church. If the points do get way into the negative, you can request a points reset.
Thank you all so much! I would like to be able to help him , but didn't want to bother him with a silly points question. He writes us emails pretty much every single monday. I'm going to back track and post the other emails he has sent just because it would be nice to have them on here. After that I think I will try just posting his emails every monday and maybe a few other things if people have questions about what it is that he is doing.
Your answers were perfect for a silly blonde like me who was born with no wisdom.... teeth... lol
How to get more points....
