Language wars !!

Just as the Japanese, Spanish and French languages are uniquely different, programming languages also have their variations, some more popular and easier to use than others. With the recent introduction of some new ones, there is a ‘war’ of modern day languages.

What’s easier and faster to use is not always the best option.

Below we highlight three of today’s most popular programming languages. Whether you’re looking to learn PHP, grab that hot new Python class, or finally learn Ruby and conquer Rails, this infographic compares how they differentiate, who uses them, and their popularity.

Think you know who reigns? You may be surprised.

Then how useful or good is Javascript to create games? Is Javascript + PhpBB + HTML5 enough to create a game where users can interact between each other? I have been learning basic Javascript for some time. I have been learning how to use if/else statements as well as several other much smaller functions. I am currently stuck at Functions. I am learning Javascript at CodeAcademy.

Yeah for game programming javascript +html5 is good enough(Html5 and js compliment each other !)... actually php, python ,rails etc are more of a backend (server side) suitable languages and i haven't heard about phpBB lately thanx for increasing my knowledge
And one thing codecademy is probably the best place to get a jumpstart to javascript and i have also learned my js basics from them.. be patient and try to learn as much as you can from their site .. if you have any problems search their forums they are a good resource
