You know how some people say that everyone who lives in North or South America is an American and how some people get mad when people from the United States say that they are American to say that they are from the US? Well, I just dont get it. Nobody ever invented another word for people from the United States of America. You dont hear peole say "Oh yeah, I am United Statican!" or anything like that. But you also dont here people from Mexico saying "Yeah, I am American" they say they are Mexican.
The name of the country is the United Sates of AMERICA. America is in the name, so why not say American? I just dont get why people get so upset about it! I have been to Canada a few times and I have heard people sayign Canadian, not American. I just dont get it........
EDIT: I think everyone from the United States of America should call themselves United Statians.
