This is sort of a follow-up to a previous post about: Microsoft Tablets.
Sometimes I wonder if Microsoft knows what it is doing. By manufacturing their own hardware they are going to annoy every computer manufacturer that makes computers and insists on having Microsoft on them. If those same manufacturers get annoyed enough they could very easily switch to a different OS and save themselves money in the process, (of course installation and training would have to be provided cutting into those savings). That Alternative OS is one of the various FREE unixes available: either a derivitave of FreeBSD (including itself), or a linux distribution. Or they could go to the far left and choose a lesser known OS. Things may be about to change. This could get massively interesting.

Many decades ago though, I purchased a publication on A linux systemunix which involved a CD for Fedora Primary 1.0. I wasn't sure what to anticipate when I set up the application, but what I got really satisfied me.

Most people, at least it has been my experience, have been surprised when being forced or willing choosing to use a different OS other than that of Windows. We shall see what this does for Microsoft and what it does for FOSS.
