I used to run a small distance every now and then, and recently I have been working to re-incorporate it into my weekly, if not daily, routine. I have worked my way up to running close to around a 3 mile distance without needing a break and keeping a decent pace. I admit I would like to increase the distance and pick up the pace a bit, but I think working on one at a time is the way to go. Hopefully, I will find myself running 5 miles a day at a good pace. When I get to that point all I will need to do is maintain the habit, if not improve it further.
I always feel more energetic and bouncy, for the entire day, after a run. I imagine it happens to other people too, but I cannot be sure about it. It is just a good feeling.
My dog, Abby, is going in to get fixed today. As much as it is a good thing in the sense that it will allow her to be able to enjoy more locations and better boarding places, it makes me a little sad. She is such a sweet animal, and in my opinion, dogs are not all that out of control population-wise, even if there are thousands if not millions of unwanted puppies in the world. On the other hand, by getting her fixed she will not be adding to those numbers. I hope she comes through the surgery fine. It would be really sad if she does not make it, I have grown attached to the furry girl. I am looking forward to her getting home, though.
P.S. In case anyone is wondering no I do not think it is unreasonable that so many places require a dog to be fixed, I just think that in comparison to humans the dog population is reasonably controlled. As a human, myself, I think there are too many children that need good homes in the world, and some that need better than what they have. However, better than what they have is very open to interpretation based on the situation that they are in.
I know I have not been on for quite some time... (okay not as long as it seems, but still). I hope all is going well. I have been busy. I am currently upgrading a computer's OS, an easy task if the hardware cooperates with me, which it hasn't been. I feel like beating it with a stick or shoving it in the oven and making a nice gooey hot mess. I hope I can get it done, I am hoping to make the old computer into a testbed computer for various applications and testing of anything I manage to throw together. Perhaps it will get more use that way than it has been, just a little over zilch. Hope you all are doing well and that Frtihost will persist and keep going with or without me, as it seems very well might be without me.
Well, as long awaited as it seems it has finally happened. All of the puppies have went on their way into the big bad world. I hope they are taken care of. They are adorable and sweet. We also kept the contact information of everyone who adopted one, so we can check in on them and see how things are going. Just want the little darlings to be taken care of.
We kept two of them (the largest and the smallest). They are adorable!! I am going to go outside and say hi as soon as I finish this. Well... off I go.
The time has arrived!! The puppies are old enough to go to their hopefully, permanent homes and families. They are adorable and I would love to keep them all but 9 full-grown dogs is a few too many, in my opinion. We are hoping to find them good, solid homes where they will get the love and attention that they deserve. I am hoping that in a few weeks their numbers will have been pared down a bit.
We may decide to keep one or two of them, but we can not do more than two. Albeit, we want to. Three dogs is the maximum we think this house could take. Well, I am off to check in on the puppies.
