Kindle Calamity

I smashed my kindle. Kneeled right down on the screen. What did I expect, leaving it sitting on the chair like that? I mean, really.. Luckily I bought the extended warranty so Amazon is sending me a new one. Overnight, even. Sounds like everything should be perfect, right?
Well, actually, no. Because my girlfriend left HER kindle in the middle of the floor. The kindle without the extended warrantee. So there it sat, begging my foot to step on it. Try as I might, I was unable to convince either of my feet that stepping on the kindle would be a bad idea. So they did. First one stomped right down on it and made the telltale "snap" sound signalling a successful screen break. The second foot, realizing that it had missed out, kicked the now useless kindle across the room.
So, no, no perfection here. I will be giving up my brand new kindle as soon as it arrives. I will also be shopping for a new lamp. My old one doesn't look all that great with a kindle buried in it

This... just... You nearly make it sound like you smashed the second on purpose Razz But I know you didn't. Whenever I think of a piece of tech I bought getting smashed or lost... I get kind of angry. If I've had the device for a year or more then I've had time to get over the 'new' feeling. I might be a little annoyed but by then I could be thinking "well I supposed it was time to upgrade anyways". I just can't believe 3 things were broken by you, that has to be some kind of talent.

Ha! If I have a talent, that's definitely it!

Nope, didn't break the 2nd kindle on purpose, I swear! Very Happy
I just looked down midstride and there it was right where my foot was gonna land and I couldn't do anything to avoid it.
Course punting it across the room was pure frustration on my part. You might think this was avoidable, but I'm not so sure. heh (no, I did not kick the broken lamp, something I am quite proud of. LOL)

Though I've been generally VERY good with my electronics, this scenario sounds very much like the kind of crap that happens in my life all the time... also sounds like it's the sort of thing you experience a fair bit too Wink

Hope buying the new Kindle isn't too painful for you. Sometimes, you just have to laugh, eh?

Sounds like a clear case of purpose tremor. Meaning the more focused you are on NOT doing something, the more likely that you will be doing it. Twisted Evil
