Another movie about demon possession and exorcism?
I saw The Exorcist starring Linda Blair and the other exorcist movies that followed in its wake. Those were scary movies that played on the the problem of Evil in its horrying dimension. It spawned a lot of misunderstanding too regarding what an exorcist was and demon possession.I still remember that after some time, Filipinos would refer to "the exorcist" as if it were the demon-possessed.
Then there was the movie called "The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005)". The story is based on the true story of "of Anneliese Michel, a young German Catholic woman who died in 1976 after unsuccessful attempts to perform an exorcism upon her with psychotropic drugs.".Anneliese Michel was also the topic of another movie called "Requiem" (2006)
And now we have "The Rite" starring Sir Anthony Hopkins, the British actor who became well-known in the Philippines because of his portrayal of Hannibal Lecter in the movie "Silence of the Lambs".
I haven't seen the movie yet, although it seems to be showing now in downtown cinemas.I wouldn't have been interested in it if not for an interview with Hopkins that I caught on TV yesterday. The show made me go to Google to see other materials about "The Rite".Check out the following articles:

If the movie is still showing by the time I spend another dayoff at my parent's place, then I may watch it.If not,I'll just wait for it when it shows on cable TV perhaps a few months from now.
