Dialysis is the process by which a machine cleans the blood of all the impurities that the kidneys would normally get rid of. While you are on they really don't want you to drink more than 32oz of fluid per day. The machine also pulls extra fluid fr om the body that it can not get rid of on its own. Some of the affects is that you cramp really bad normally in the legs. A person who has no kidney function can not live without these treatments. You normally spend about 4 hrs sitting in a chair in a clinic with other patients who are in the same boat. The only way I can describe the feeling would be like what you see on the movies when a vampire bits their victim the machine starts to pull blood and you get really cold and it is difficult to keep your eyes open. It is not a fun experience but needed none the less.
