ZedNote 2 & 1 - i-Life

Last month I purchase a cheap laptop from a online shopping site. The unit is called ZedNote 2-1. It has an atom Z3735F processor which I believe it is the former Bay Trail. The funny thing though it was advertise that it has a Cherry Trail Atom processor. But nothing that ever matters to me with that price of approx 130 US$ what can you expect. But nevertheless, after using it for a month now, I am finding it a good choice for simple office suite, browsing, some lite gaming, listening to music and watching videos. Youtube can play 1080p video very smoothly. I did try to play it with 4k videos but the video became sluggish. Sound is quite nice as well and the best part of this is that you can fold it 360 degree to use it as a tablet mode. Touch is very responsive. The only downside was the track pad because it was not that responsive so might as well purchase a separate wireless mouse for it or just use the touch screen. I have used a Lenovo laptop with Intel celeron on it but i find ZedNote much faster to use with a very big margin. It has a 10,000 MAh battery which gets you going even if you don't have the charger along with you. It has an EMMC 32GB of storage so you may have to purchase an adiitional sd card up to 64 GB for additional storage. It has an 11.6 inch screen so it is not that small or big to carry anywhere. I tried Ubuntu Linux on it but a lot of features are not working like wireless network, touch screen, and even bluetooth. Overall experience is quite nice and I just hope this device last for quite sometime.

Hi Jestoy. I'm on visit in the UAE and have been eyeing those laptops at Carrefour. I've also noticed Touchmate is marketing the same specs with the 32 GB SSD. I was curious to see whether one can actually use the laptop. Like I thought that a huge chunk of the 32 GB SSD would go into serving the basic operational processes including Windows 10.

Do you have MS Office loaded on it? And how fast does it work on it. As I was thinking of buying one for an office assistant at the previous company I was working at. Great to see one can add additional storage - I was unaware that one could.

Hi deanhills, I didn't install microsoft office because I have no plan on purchasing it anyway so instead I install WPS Office and It is usable. Online version of Microsoft Office 365 is quite fast as well and also google docs. I currently using it for word, spreadsheet purpose only. Yes I agree with you windows may be made for this cheap laptop but not the storage. Half of the storage was eaten by the operating system itself so almost half of it for other third party application an your documents. A external hard drive might be useful as well but cloud storage is the way to go for this kind of laptop.

Please find the link for the video of the wps office in the above laptop.

First I heard of WPS Office Jestoy. Thanks for posting the link! Looks just right for a laptop like this one. Cool
