I went tot the market yesterday to purchase a sandwich and a mobile prepaid balance. On my way back to work, it was hotter than usual so I decided to grab a taxi even if it was not that far. I saw a taxi and ask him if he can drop me and he said yes. I was holding with my both hands the phone and a plastic of sandwich. When I reach into the place I place down my phone on my lap and grab a few bucks for the fare. I did not notice that I left the phone on the taxi and headed inside my work place. When I went to recharge my phone and notice that it was lost, I told my helper to lend his phone to me so I could make a call to my mobile then this taxi driver named Imran answered it and ask my location and he told me to relax and he will come in just a couple of minutes to bring my phone back to me. In just a matter of minutes my phone came back to me and can't thank him enough. I tried to offer him a few bucks not for a payment but a sign of gratitude towards him but he refuses it and said to me that it was okay and it was nothing and he was glad to help me. I am glad to have met such good and honorable people.

I had the exact same thing happening to me towards the end of last year. In Al Ain. I had received a phone call in a taxi, and forgot to pocket the phone, and it must have slipped off when I left the taxi. I didn't realize I had left it in the taxi however. When a friend phoned me just after I had been dropped by the taxi, he was surprised to hear the taxi driver answering the phone. I was lucky, as probably the taxi driver wouldn't have known my phone was still in his car. Taxi driver was also very nice and dropped my phone off at my work place.
