I just recently purchase Raspberry Pi 3 because I am very amaze to the things it can do. For online media streaming, browsing the net, programming, and even office work. At first, I installed LibreElec to be able to watch my favorite TV shows. But using it in this manner removes the Pi capabilities to use it as desktop computer. So what I did was I installed Raspbian on it and installed Kodi. The only problem I had was the version available for raspbian is 15.2 only so I searched the net for a possible solution. Luckily I found one and I thought maybe it is better if I share it with you.

kodi is great, interesting how similar level gpus in old laptops can't hack 1080p at all yet that OS can.
