It does look high. I'm wondering how much hiking the person had to do to get to that point. There is a similar place in Natal, South Africa. Not at that height, but if the access to that height is simple, such as the one in Natal, then I think I'd be completely comfortable. But if the access is more complicated and difficult to get to, i.e. completely vertical, then I'd probably not feel as comfortable either.

OK, found a photo - the site is the Oribi Gorge .... one drives up to parallel to where the rock is overhanging and can then walk that last bit ....

Nice photo ! but We can't see what below that rock. I mean there's ground few meters down or not. In the pic I posted in OP where It's clear there is nothing. If you fall you will fall for a quite a long time !

It is 330 metres high. Is that helpful?

Does this photo give a better feeling of how high it is?

What they are not telling you in the picture is she is scared to death and can't move now. Laughing
Not a good time for an earth quake. That is really something though, would love to go there and not be with some nervous clown who likes to push play around.

@ deanhills : Ah That's a better photo ! Wish that photo was bit more angled Smile

@ Bluedoll : Well maybe she is not afraid at all. I don't think she would walk to that edge if she has the height problem ! lol but when you have height problem and you are in a place like that Last thing you want is someone come from behind and tell "Booh" !

You've got a great point their Bluedoll. I guess if it was in an earthquake or fault area it probably wouldn't be there any longer. Although who knows, anything is possible. Very Happy

I do agree that I am afraid of heights to some extent as well. I am unable to do things such as rockball climbing. I am also afraid of water as well. I am mostly alright in swimming pools but to go into the beach is a very difficult task for me even at the edge of the beach. Can someone help me with this problem? I think that this is embarrassing. It is also upsetting that I would not be able to enjoy the fun.

Nope. I wish I could have. That was completely out of my way in Natal/KwaZulu - inland though. Probably one of the most beautiful areas in South Africa.

I went through my photos that I took in South Africa two days ago for the first time. I've been very busy. Noticed some of Oman that I haven't posted up either. Better get cracking with putting them up soon! The ones I have from South Africa are mostly of family and vineyards though. And of beaches as well.

I like beaches! And I've never seen a vineyard.
