A simple responsive WP Slider - tips and tricks

I thought this plug-in merited its own blog post, because it worked so well right out of the box, and it comes free as well. It is also responsive, in other words it will look the right size with phones and ipads.

What I liked about it is that it needed no learning curve, everything turned up in the right places, and it worked immediately. Clean and simple.

Once the plug-in is uploaded and activated, there is a separate icon called Soliloque - in the left-hand WP options for creating a slider. When one clicks on it it immediately opens up a page for creating and loading a slider. In order to make sure one gets the perspective of the images right, one should go for high resolution images. Size of the slides is 960X33. A trick that worked well for me was to create a transparent .png slide base with the exact same measurements, and then to center the photos on them so that I didn't have to distort their perspectives or crop them to death in order to get them to fit the 960X330 size. All I needed to get right was the 330 height.

Once the slider has been created, all one needs to do is insert the slider into the page. For that the plug-in has an option installed right on top of the page window. Can't miss it.

Thanks Dude. You won't be disappointed, I tried it and it works well. A trick for the slides is creating a base with the correct dimension - I made mine transparent. Then copy and save your images over it to get the right dimension every time easily. The transparency part is great for preserving the right perspective when you can't get the exact right dimension for the image.

I just have couple of questions about the plugin,

Can we connect these slides to posts or pages ?

Can we take photos which already uploaded to the blog rather than uploading again ?

You can take photos that have already been uploaded except they have to be exact dimensions - 960X330. All sliders work like that. They have precise measurements one has to work to. Otherwise the slides are going to look distorted.

Hmm I couldn't see the option for using image from media library. Maybe it's in paid version ? Also is there anyway to connection images with posts ? I mean a link to posts.
