Sounds like fun even if you can't dive. Speaking of fins, watch out for those shark fins treading water.
You don't see the cat on the rock? Mynx will be upset with you. I do but then I have a wild imagination. Hint: the cat is not hiding behind the rock.
Have a great time, Dean!
I've been VERY busy, so although I'd made my booking a week ago, haven't really had time to blog it. So here we go. This time I'm going to spend as many times as I can on a boat and do snorkeling. Plan initially was to go diving, but I all of a sudden developed tinnitus in my left ear and before I knew it had to go through an MRI as well to check my middle ear out. I've got a history of difficulty to equalize so probably need to be careful. Any way long story short, I'm to stay away from flying and diving for a while. I'm still determined to get out on a boat however. Probably going to kill me not being able to dive, but it's fun to snorkel and swim with fins and mask. Now for finding time to book this in advance as the regular diving business I used to boat with completely disappeared. Nothing ever stays the same. May wait until I get to Muscat on Sunday and go scout Marina Bander Al Rowdha, a popular Yachting and Boating Club, before I make any bookings.
A typical site near the coast of Muscat and in the Gulf of Oman
Here's a photo of Marina Bander Al Rowdha. I'll probably get there on Sunday. The two boats in the background are diving boats. And the rock is called Cat's Rock or something along those lines. For the life of me I haven't been able to make out a cat in that rock.

You ever had any problems with mountains, sudden altitude pains in planes etc? I don't think my body likes changes like that I'll stick to caving etc, I'm curious I probably wouldn't go diving because of my history with 'equalisation issues' or something

I'll be careful and see how things pan out Josso. For now just nice to look forward to. Am hitting the road very early tomorrow morning. Will take about five hours to get there if all goes according to plan.
