Green Salad ....

I feel GREAT! Just had a wonderful salad. Feel completely energized after having been zapped hard environmentally when I returned to the UAE. When I got into my townhouse last night at 1:00 a.m. in the morning, it was 39 degrees Celsius in the living room, 40 degrees in the one upstairs bedroom, and 41 in the other. There's a sunroof on the bedroom level. It was gross! Took 24 hours of continuously running the two ACs to get the temperature to at least get down to the twenties Celsius. Everything in the cupboards still feel warm to the touch however.

Then when I went out this morning by car to get some much needed fresh food and groceries, I got zapped again. On my return journey saw zigzag stars in one eye, a migraine in the eye. Finally took to bed, and then for the first time since my return slept, 10 solid hours. Real deep sleep as was not quite sure where I was when I woke up. Then a couple of hours after that, when I was a little more comfortable, and slightly hungry, made this salad. Went down beautifully, and for the first time since my touch down in the early morning hours of yesterday, starting to feel a little OK.

The greens were imported from California, pre-washed mix with mostly spinach. Think it is called Euopean mix. I then added cut cucumber (imported from the Netherlands - local cucumber is awful), half tomato (also imported from the Netherlands), small avo (from Mexico - had to trim some of it off), crushed garlic, squirt of lime, curry spice, French dressing - water based. Then mixed it all, and it went down perfectly.

Heat does love to build up in unconditioned spaces. Next time, perhaps leave the AC on at a higher temperature setting. Got to love 'jet lag' and rediscovering heat torequire sleep to reset your internal clock.
Salad sounds like you are still on your 'international' trip.

I'm so lazy I buy pre mixed bags of salad with everything in them, lettuce, cabbage, carrot, etc.. and add a dressing to it. It's quick and easy though I know I could do it myself if I bought the ingredients separately.

Sounds like a really great salad! I don't put nearly as much effort into mine. I usually hack off some romaine lettuce and add some celery and cucumber and cut up some tomatoes. Mynx is wondering why you didn't add any mice or fish.

@Stand. You're right. I'm suffering big time. I'm glad I'm still on leave for this week, as yesterday and today have been sleeping on and off the whole day. Temperature now in early thirties if I leave the AC off for a little while. It's ideal for me when it goes to below mid twenties - 22 Celsius. Doesn't happen often that I get it that perfect though.

@Bluedoll. Had another of those salads today as well. Then fell asleep right after that again. Straight up. Lights out! OK test for lazy will come tomorrow as place is badly in need of cleaning. I'm good with procrastinating on that!

@Gremlyn. Tell Mynx I'm working up to fish. Just haven't got to it yet. Got some tinned salmon, however probably need to get my butt on the road tomorrow to get some real salmon, chicken beef, etc. I usually cut them up and freeze them in portions. May do it later in the week.

but you simply must try the salad with mice. Mynx highly recommends.
