So I had a dream ....

It is very rare I recall a dream. But it may be because got enough sleep this weekend. It's strange weather here right now, particularly for the Middle East. It has been raining and overcast. So this made it all conducive to sound sleep.

I seem to recall I've had this type of dream before. I drive down a multi-lane road. It feels kind'a busy. I'm nearing a traffic light and find my brakes aren't working. When I get closer to the traffic light I find the traffic light is not working, but fortunately traffic is moving through it and stationery on the opposite sides. The same thing happens again at the next traffic intersection. My brakes don't seem to be working, the traffic lights are not working, but I notice that people to the sides of me managed to stop, and miraculously I get my car to stop too.

Then all of a sudden out of the blue I see there is a Holiday Inn Hotel around. This whole situation with brakes not working and driving felt weird so thought to check into the hotel. I don't know what I did with my car, but next thing I find myself at the reception of the Holiday Inn inquiring about accommodation. Looks like a well worn Hotel. In the back of my mind I'm wondering where my car is. I also find myself asking directions to the airport. Don't know which city that was in.

Woke up at that point. Kind'a weird, particularly since I haven't traveled for at least a while.

Your dreams are telling you "Road Trip!!!"
I don't have dreams only nightmares.

I'm not the one to believe in premonitory dreams or things like that, but people love to tell me their dreams because according to them, I'm good at "interpreting dreams". Should I give it a try? Very Happy

You seem to have many options and choices in your life, and you feel that you don't have the time to consider all of them properly. You just keep moving forward. Sometimes you even forget about the people around you because there's too much going on in your head. In the end you prefer a place where you feel comfortable, a place that you know well and a place where you can be safe. Did I make any sense? Razz

ABSOLUTELY! Shocked That was very much on the mark Vanilla. Cool Feel guilty I'm not as regularly in touch with my family and friends as I should be, am moving forwards all of the time, but at the same time can't seem to get to investigating options that are available to me, and that I should be paying attention to. Makes me feel uneasy as well.

The car represents your means to get something done while the motel is your journey. You want to change something so that is why airplane travel is in the dream. The problem is you are a little insecure as to what these changes will be so you are misplacing things in your dream like your car which makes you feel uneasy about the whole thing. When you figure out what you want (your destination) or get some confidence that everything will work out the way it should and see a change as an adventure, you will have a better dream.

Or you could be thinking about getting an action packed video game. Laughing

Bluedoll and Vanilla, where did you get all those information from? Dreams can be quite strange and unusual. It might also be annoying when you wake up, realizing that you were just dreaming.

Sometimes dreams are metaphors for what you are experiencing in your life. My dad used to believe firmly in premonitory dreams. I try to find certain patterns and interpret them. Smile

Must say I've learned quite a bit out of the analysis thanks Vanilla. Bluedoll I like your analysis of the car, so that would make sense with not being able to use the brakes, yet not needing them at the same time.

Also true that it makes for some nice material for a video game as well. Seem to recall too that it was quite dark in the dream as well.

I've had dreams that I didn't want to end and actually asked to stay in the dream but we know this is not possible. I've also had ones that were very scary. Often we do not remember our dreams but I think we still dream. Without remembering that is hard to confirm though. It is really a big mystery like the writing on the wall.

I had one of the craziest dreams ever just the other night. It was semi-lucid and very vivid.

I had found myself at a party that I couldn't remember arriving to. I was walking around and a sense of dejavu washed slowly over me. I had been at this party before, but a couple of years ago. I tried to scout out some familiar faces, and I finally found the face of a classmate of mine from high school a few years back. Then I remembered. I had been at this party! I remembered what I was wearing and who I came in with. I made my way to the door and just as I passed in front of the frame, I saw myself, a few years younger, coming in behind my best friend at the time. My younger self looked up and we made eye contact, and a very uncomfortable feeling hit my stomach. I could tell he felt the same way, and he made an uncomfortable tripple take before walking past me.
