More interesting rules ... Park in Muscat ...

Found these very interesting rules in a Park in Muscat that is situated close to the beach on Muscat's famous Corniche road. I was at the Park too early, on Thursday at 8:00 a.m., so it was still closed, affording me the luxury of reading the details of this notice. I thought the one about littering only in litter boxes was cute. Very Happy

Interesting that lake is not suitable for swimming yet water games are OK. Too shallow, maybe?

I have to agree, the rule about the lakes not being suitable for swimming is a bit odd. Is there something wrong with the water? It's a lake so I'm assuming it's deep enough. Do a lot of boats (big and small) pass through? Hrmm... Now I'm curious. I also like the rule about not letting children play with electrical wires and cables. Are there a lot of those kicking around in this park? Razz

It must have been a generic sign post, or maybe a translation error from Arabic to English as the park is actually surrounded on the one side by a beach that is on the Gulf of Oman and Arabian Sea. The water is not really accessible as the beach is quite rocky, but I guess that must be like a challenge for the children and at the same time a safety risk.

There are plenty of container ships at the container terminal, as the harbour is about a kilometre from the park. Plenty of boats on fun outings and fishing boats.

Here's a map of Oman to give you an idea. The corniche (sea wall) is in Matrah, Muscat.
