I think I'm in Hell .....

WOW!!!!!! Today the top temperature from around 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. was 50 degrees Celsius. I was out around 11:00 a.m. and thought it was unbearably hot outside. I braved the elements, as I had to go and see the service manager who was looking after the fixing of my car that includes an expensive replacement of a water pump, and a thermostat gauge. He had been on a training course while my car had gone down, and there was a less than intelligent person "taking care" of the details. Braving the heat was well worth it as I at least managed to negotiate a discount, but the heat was like stepping right into a very warm and dry oven. I had to work with about 10 minutes of it at a time, trying to hail a taxi in the street and I'm still "glowing" with the heat. Sort of a real zapper.

Anyone else experiencing high temperatures like these? While I was chatting to the taxi driver he said that apparently they expect the hottest year in many years in the Middle East. Last year I remember it had been particularly bad in Jordan as well. Jordan is not used to high temperatures like these, so not everyone needs air conditioning there which made it into a huge problem. At least where I am there is AC everywhere, so from that point of view, I probably should count myself lucky. Except I'm without my wheels, and that is a real hardship for me in this hellish heat.

17 degrees Celsius where I am. I like temperatures around 20 degrees. 25 is already too much for me. Razz So I can't imagine what 50 would feel like, your description of an oven does ring a bell as it was a few years ago around 38 degrees outside and it felt just like that back then.

By the way, what car do you have?

Man, are you in Dubai? I've had a 3 day visit there last summer and the temperature was or close to 50C. Personally, I've grown up in an area with a temperature of 20-41C therefore it didn't make life harder for me when I visited UAE.
