So how much identity goes into the construction of a website? Quite a bit, depending on how flexible the template and the purpose of the site. Not so much, depending on the purpose/focus of the site.
In my case, I've developed an iWeb site for my high school students to check homework & news. It's now looking for a new "home" because Mobile me is phasing out for iCloud. Hence my joining Frihost. I spent hours crafting the site and don't want to give it up for the less aesthetically pleasing Google template we teachers were in-serviced on.
How much of "me" is in it? 40%: color choice; page themes; scavenged quotes; assignments; layout. But as Apple created the technology for expression, I have to give them the lion's share, for they've molded my ideas into their image.
