Starting a Website

You may think " Starting a website / community is easy. Just get a site builder and make a website". When I hear that , I say " Oh no. Starting your own website or community is not that easy.". Well my friends it's not first you have to go through the basic steps.

Planning Your Site

The first thing you want to do before starting anything else is think about what your website is going to be about. The second thing that you need to think about is the name of your site. The name needs to be catchy but still related to your site. Another important thing is your content and what you'll write.

Things like that need to be thought out carefully. You never need to rush because the slower and careful you are about things means you are less likely to make a mistake.

Building Your Site / Community.

One thing about a website and a community is that they both need a good host. First it's best to start out with a free Host like FriHost here or 000web-host (FriHost is the better option). The reason I say that is because you really don't want to spend that much money until you see things progress and get better.

Okay, Now you may be wondering how are you supposed to build the site now that you've found a good host. I'd suggest coding your own site. I know it make take a while ( remember what I wrote about taking things slowly) but it shows that you actually put in work into your site. Now you can get a premade template and change the content if you don't have the time or for some other reason. But, Choosing a premade template is the best option is some cases.

Now community sites like gaming or whatever require even more hard work. How?. Well let me tell you. See when you build a community where people come in and post or whatever participation you choose, You have to Mange your community and even worry about who you hire. When you need help for a big community you have to look and see who you can trust and who you can't. Another thing is you have to make sure that your site looks decent and check for errors or anything that may be wrong.

Now if you are going to get a forum for your site you need good forum software like My Bulletin Board (Mybb) or even phpbb. Those are your free options. Now if you want something a little more fancy, Try I.P.B or V-bulletin those are the best paid choices. The reason that you need to worry about forum software is because want to be using good software that you know will not glitch on you.

Sometimes paid software is not the best. So choose something that is decent. It doesn't have to be really fancy. As long as you got good software then you don't need to worry.

Advertising and getting people to get to your site

Now when you got everything set up then you might want to then just try to get people to come. The first thing you must do is submit your site to search engines like Google. That will increase the visitors on your site in due time. The thing is that it won't be immediately. The second thing is that you need to go on sites and advertise if they somehow allow it. People might just come and sign up.
The last option is Affiliation. When you affiliate your site with another site, both parties agree to put up some kind of link to each other's site. That'll increase traffic because when people see your link on the other site they'll probably be interested and click.

This seems to be a great article on starting a website. Thanks for posting it. I will be using it in the future as a reference, of that I am sure. Thanks once again. I look forward to more articles by you.

Well written keep up the good work if it is an interest. Why this could be a workable draft for a web page even.

You seem to have good knowledge, might be worth developing this even further. I find too many "how to do's" go technical too fast and leave out the common sense things which you have addressed. Nice!
