Create something to post. “Let’s start posting!” This is the fun part. Writing a blog isn’t hard, and it shouldn’t be harder since you’re handling your own subject. Post anything that talks about your topic. It can be a review, a travel log, a diary entry or a social commentary. You can also use media like pictures, audio or video to spice up your reader’s experience.
TIP: To hook your readers into your blog, create awesome titles to your posts. “Steal Your Moment”, “Let’s Make Some Money!” or “How to Be Awesome Like Me” are just some. You can experiment with different titles so you can correlate with readers on how they feel on a certain title, and grab them to further read your posts.
Promote, share, and interact. “How will my blog be known?” Your blog would not be popular by itself. Increase your readership by posting comments and mentioning your blog in some websites. You can also use social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter to broadcast your blog by sharing links. Interacting with your readers is another way of boosting your site’s popularity. Replying on their comments would retain and even grow your audience.
Post, post, post. “What’s next?” Keep posting new and fresh content. I know this step will take time because you have to satisfy your readers by posting more. You have to post content regularly (on a daily, weekly or monthly basis) so your subscribers will not leave the site – or you have to start again from scratch.
That’s it; you’ve created your own blog site! The only thing that you will have to work on by yourself is maintaining it: posting every day, handling with your readers, making something fresh, and keeping it awesome! Blogging is sharing what your passion is, and doing it does not require much effort. As Michael Arrington of TechCrunch says, “I believe the term ‘blog’ means more than an online journal. I believe a blog is a conversation. People go to blogs to read AND write, not just consume.”

Thank you for your post. I am planning to create a new blog about my life and computers in general. I am newbie C++ programmer and I planning to cover this topic. The only problem is that I am not very socialized person and it will be hard for me to describe my feelings and emotions publicly. I have a lot of photos so probably I will add a photo section (maybe I will create separate blog for this purpose). By now I am wondering if I should use separate hosting or just use blogspot or wordpress as my blogging platform.
