I find that very funny. Particularly because some journalists stalk people for their stories or try and tap phone calls.
But yes, I'm worried too as there are cameras everywhere these days. We have cameras at my work place in the corridors, for "safety and security", but probably could be used to check on employees as well.
Daily Telegraph Installs Workplace Monitors On Journalists Desks has been a scary read for me this morning. Journalists found a tracking device under their table when coming to work in the morning. Apparently this means was unannounced. The device is used for what is called automated workspace utilization analysis.
Daily Telegraph HR said this is for optimizing energy consumption and utilization of office spaces. But this technology allows to keep track exactly when one is at his desk.
In the light of feedback received meanwhile Daily Telegraph decided to remove those devices.
This seems to be a story about the Dark Side of the Cognitive Era.
