2014 - hottest year ever

2014 has been the hottest year ever since recording of temperatures worldwilde, according to a NASA study. Another indication of a global trend ?

I wouldn't say it's an indication of a trend, so much as another point within an established trend.

The last two days have been record rain days in the UAE. Quite unique how everything came to an virtual halt including schools closed. No umbrellas. No raincoats. Very little drainage. Was fun! Felt like Canada for two days!

Last summer actually didn't feel very warm to me and my wife, when we did our first RV trip. Only at some days it has been warm enough to sit outside.
Local trends might be very different to a global trend. During global warming it is actually said that it might become colder in Europe because the warm Gulf stream might become weaker. As more water gets into the ocean from the melting Northern glaciers water weight is reduced ( salt water is heavier than sweet water ), and thus the motor to drive the Gulf stream becomes weaker.

The Earth's temperature cycles (history shows that). I question how much we humans are accelerating the process this time around?

@Stand. I'm not a scientist or physicist, but for me it makes sense. If you're in a room overfull of people, the temperature goes up. The world seems to be getting too full of people burning all kinds of fossil fuels. They are also emptying the world of its much needed green catalysts - forests and vegetation. Temperature has to go up when that happens. They are doing the same with our oceans, too many people polluting it and scavenging it for all kinds of resources, pouring fuels into it too. So temperature has to go up too. Somewhere along the lines one of these days this is going to boomerang on us. In a very slow a motion but very real way.
