Raspberry Pi and Anime

It's been a while since I last made a blogpost in my personal category, but here I am once again. Razz

I have been away for a while but I am kind of back (not really that active, just occasionally posting) and trying to get my points back into the positive. On a sidenote, when I got back, my points were around minus 120.

Raspberry Pi
Ah yes, the Raspberry Pi. Very Happy

I was one of the first to order (around N°4000) it and I got mine delivered yesterday. For the people who don't know what the Raspberry Pi is, it's a small computer (700MHz, 256Mb GPU, 2 USB ports, Ethernetport, HDMI port and 2 other ports) but let me just give you the link to the official website and a picture:

I'm not really 100% sure for what I'm going to use it but I'm probably going to use it as the core of my fileserver or as a mediaplayer. It can handle up to 1080p but I rarely download 1080p so 720p will probably be no problem for this little guy. Oh, did I mention that it has the size of a credit card?

Anime
As I already mentioned in some of my recent posts, I have been into anime lately and yesterday I finished watching Steins;Gate. Brilliant anime, love the characters. It's definitely worth checking out if you like seinen anime.

For the record, I'm currently watching 5 animes: Accel World, Hyouka, Jormungand, Sankarae en Naruto Shippuuden. Smile

With Accel World and Naruto being my favorites. Smile

How do I find out what my number is

I have used many 'tiny' PCs to control a variety of production machines where a PLC was much more than required. Will look into this Raspberry Pi as an option.

@Josso: If you ordered with Elements14/Farnell, you should have gotten a mail with your ordernumber, mine was something around 10.000. RS Online gives your ordernumber when you have purchased you Raspberry Pi (so at the very end). I had 4000 something and received it wednesday. Smile

Still waiting for Farnell though. Razz

@standready: I guess you're going to like the GPIO pins on the Raspberry Pi. Smile

Think I'm still on like the "we'll let you know" stage. Subscribed though getting one as soon as more units become available.

You say they can handle 1080? I wondered about that... FREAKIN' awesome I might make a little media player or mp3 player like you said.

So excited about this stuff already hacked the hell out of my netbook that I just got

The model b has like... a VGA out? Am I right?

Yes it does play 1080p:

The output is HDMI not VGA.
