Worried about work

I graduated in April of this year in Computer Engineering Technology. I finished with fairly good marks however I did struggle in some classes. I felt I would never actually land a job in the field however 2 months later in June I got hired on a one year contract doing infrastructure and applications support for a fairly big company. I was extremely excited at the opportunity and I love every moment of the job. I have learnt more in the field than I ever did at school (which ix expected). However as time goes on I have now started to face the fact that I have 6 months left of the contract and despite the fact they have told me they would like to keep me, it is not in writing yet and I am getting more and more stressed at the prospect of being jobless. Worried I again will not get a job in the field as most jobs in IT require 2 years experience to start and I am only getting one year experience with this contract. I still have hope however my area does not have a lot of IT jobs. My girlfriend is in the same boat however there is more potential with her staying at her job.

Hopefully the company will keep you on permanently. You can always start looking now by networking with others that you could be available in six months. Another option is to have discussion with your current employer asking them to start helping you find your next assignment/job.
Best of luck to you.

Don't worry.
You still have 6 months start from now on,try searching for new jobs. Hope the company extends its contact period with you.
All the best !

Thank you both for the well wishes. Today I feel I got good news, they are sending me on a course which will cost them almost $2000 for me to do. I feel they are planning for the future, would they really pay that to just keep me for the last 6 months?
