Wow... It's been a while

Well... last time I was posting I'd hopped on the PokemonGO bandwagon... and then hopped off after reaching something like level 22 or 24 or some nonsense like that.

I'm sorry; when I have to spend all my various Pokeballs to catch a stupid 10cp Pidgey!!! THAT'S KIND OF RIDICULOUS!!

That being said... I only miss it a little but it was starting to interfere with just about everything. I'm probably surrounded by a handful of gyms and it would get me out and about on some nice walks. Of course, I also have to work here so that was an unnecessary itch I just didn't need.

You'd think I'd have more to say after being gone since August. I kind of don't. Still have the same apartment. It's been snowing like crazy recently. Still have my job and the cats are good. Mama seems happy enough. I tried ordering some basic music books we used to use in public school and high school plus another advanced book I only saw but never used. I think I finally receive the 3rd of these books (technically #2 in the set) so I have to pick that up probably tomorrow.

It's just something for me to use and work through so I can get the feel of my bari sax. Aside from those books all I have is sheet music and... when you go a year or more without playing you kind of have to go back to the basics. I'm not doing it because I've forgotten how to play (I haven't). I'm physically out of shape. My mouth hurts from playing for too long (embouchure). Of course too long is maybe an hour. Back in the day, I would play for about an hour and a half for band practice and then at least another hour as I had music class right after! I could still sit there and play. I never tired.

Another reason for getting the books is the off chance I reproduce and my offspring has any musical inclinations. I mean, they'd have to wait until they're older. There's kind of a height requirement for playing this bad boy.

I'll leave this for now... My brain is all out of sorts.

Nice for you to visit and great to hear everyone in your family is OK. How's the job doing?

Welcome back.
I totally get the "You'd think I'd have more to say after being gone since August. I kind of don't," thing... I'm in much the same boat, though I'm here all the time Razz I haven't really had much to say about my life that's really changed in the last two years. Work, come home, repeat.

It's great that you're still working on getting back up to speed with your bari sax. They're a great sounding instrument, and playing music is a great way to keep both body and mind moving.

Heya TG! Welcome back. I was wondering what became of you and was hoping everything was OK. I also get your "kind of don't". I think most fall into that phase especially for me with winter.
Look forward to some updated photos of the 'family'.

I suppose the one minor thing to change is I've mostly given up on Blackberry. I have the Priv for a work phone as a way of trying it out as I considered it for my personal phone. However, my provided stopped selling the phone so... My contract was nearly done at the end of January but I already had an offer to save 100$ on a "premium" phone. Between a coworker and a friend, they both said: "you want the Pixel!" So I read a little bit about it. I think my biggest concern is the water proof/resistance issue. Considering how expensive it is I'm wary of getting it near moisture (perfect with all this snow falling on my head!). I had a look at it in store as I was determined to buy "a" phone. I was pretty sure it was going to be the Pixel. The next question was what size... They had the phone in black and white and that might have influenced my perception a bit. I really didn't see a huge difference so I opted for the larger screen. I also nabbed an Otterbox. So... here I am with a new Pixel and I traded in the old Blackberry Classic. No more keyboard...

I have to say I kind of love the fingerprint thing on the back of the phone. I hate working with pins and patterns and passwords. I think it's built in that it prompts for my alternate method sometimes just to make sure that... maybe someone hasn't cut my finger off? So I have to put my pattern in sometimes. I like the 'OK Google" piece too as a way of unlocking my phone. I just... hate that it turns itself off every day. Not sure if it's a glitch of intentional.

Now... here's a clip of Mynx snoring. It's this new thing... mostly cute and only sometimes annoying if I'm also trying to sleep

Oh and Mama likes to purr a lot. More so with music or consistent sounds around her.

Awesome photos, thanks TG, looks as though feline friends are doing great. I've never heard of the Pixel before. Am going to check up on it straight away. Aha ... looks as though it is by Google.

Little later: had a look at it - it's brand-new - how are you going to deal with the USB Type-C? Think that would be the only thing holding me back.

USB C doesn't seem to bother me much. The box came with 2 cables, one longer than the other so I have one by my bed to charge at night and another tucked in my work bag. I also recently bought a 20,000 mAh power bank by Anker so that's in my bag and I just charge up whatever device I have (work phone, iPod, wireless headphones, my phone). I know Apple is pushing USB C with their computers now so... it's just a matter of time.

I suppose if I didn't have the extra cable or another way to charge my stuff it would be kind of hard to use any public charging stations or ask a friend. It's on my mind that we have to update the cables and replace some broken ones in our charging wall. They have the old Apple connectors for the older apple iPods and stuff that I don't think anyone really has. We'll probably replace those with USB C cables at some point.

So are you going to rejoin with gen 2 release of some 80 new characters?

A few of my friends mentioned this new piece but I don't think I have the energy for it. It was a little crazy this one weekend when we pulled off the road randomly and it was because there was a pokestop nearby. I don't want to be like that! lol
