iOS 8 for iPad

Well, I'm going to try that update to iOS 8 on my iPad. Since I don't really know what it's going to be like I'm definitely backing up so I had the opportunity to jump ship if it's too much of a shock. I felt this way about the update from iOS 5 to iOS 6. Apparently I missed what iOS 7 was supposed to be all about.

Anyways, the iPad is taking it's time backing up. The download of the OS hopefully won't take too long and and install will be an interestingly long wait if I recall.

More to come!

Apparently it's going to take about an hour to download the update. I am using wifi so that won't help much. I also don't have the most amazing internet package out there but I like the price and... actually it was the highest one I could get for my area while still using DSL. I'm not prepared to cough up more money for cable.

I lied! I just realized it was showing me the time for the download and update. I'm down to 10 minutes and I decided to actually look at the message and it specifically says Updating. So the download probably did take that long, it's the update process that is the pain.

Soon I will see what this new OS looks like!

Brace yourself for much of the same. Seems crapple just added some 'andriod' functions but don't see much else.

I just made it update and went to sleep.
It's done when I got up.

I did not find something very different from IOS7.
Maybe I will check the changelist when I'm available.

Update it and tell Whats your opinion on iOS 8?

Well it looks the same. That's disappointing. There were two new apps, one for Info and one for Podcasts? I just shoved them into a folder. I'll have to checkout what was so new in this update. Maybe I'll find something useful? The iPad does what I want it to do. I try to think if there is anything else it could do that I just don't know about but nothing comes to mind. I can't really say the thought "I wish I could do this..." has come up much. It's more "How can I use my iPad for more stuff?". So yea, I'll need to see what actually changed (aside from possible bug fixes, etc).
