Leek and Potato Soup

So I was playing Skyrim on day when I was harvesting plants from a farmer's field. I saw that I had picked up a number of leeks and wondered "What can I make with leeks?"

Well I looked up the obvious Leek and potato soup and checked the ingredients of one that look pretty good. I made my list and bought all the stuff. Then I started to make it. I was going along well enough when I started to read ahead since everything was in a pot now. I saw the words "blender" and "puree" and I died a little inside.

I got a little creative and went into full potato masher mode!

Lets just say I never want to do that again but I got kind of close to the puree texture. The soup tasted great. After talking about my experience with a friend from work she suggesting getting a hand blender. I thought this was an excellent idea and I even found one on sale in the next couple weeks!

Skip ahead another week or so and I bought the ingredients again and made the soup again! It lasted a while, it was something I could eat for lunch AND dinner, so why not?

The iPad thing is sort of a joke that seemed to go unnoticed to my disappointment. I was listening to the same song a friend of mine from work made up and I'd been pestering him for a copy of the file so put in my iTunes library. I have a handful of others except this and it drove me nuts! Though, come to think of it, I haven't listened to his stuff in a while.... ah well...

Leek and potato soup with the hand blender tasted awesome! I might just back off on the pepper....

Cool !
It seems inspiration comes from everything.
I read some articles about how people make food according to World of Warcraft.
It's amazing, too!
