iPad Keyboard Case

So I'd been thinking about how I'd like to be able to type documents and notes on my iPad rather than use a stylus pen or the touch keyboard. I'd looked around on Futureshop's website to see what they had and I found a case I liked but they were out of stock and their site was like that for a good week. The case was made by Belkin so I looked them up on the weekend, found the case and ordered it.

The keyboard looks thin and there were a couple good reviews on Futureshop's site about it. I want to be able to type notes up in meetings since I can type faster than I can write and it would be neater. I also want something to type on when I'm out and about or just lying in bed. The iPad really has replaced my laptop and I barely use it anymore. My laptop is more likely to overheat because it required ventilation and the batter is also shot so it needs to be plugged in all the time.

I'm hoping to get this in the next couple days since Belkin just confirmed the order so it should ship soon. If they don't send it to the Shoppers next to me I might scream! At least it won't be anything like when my computer desk went to the Purolator store way on the other side of town. If that had landed across the screen I might have been able to haul it home the short distance or I could have asked a friend to help me carry it. No need to worry too much about this keyboard since it will be in a little box Smile

I'm excited!

I know what you mean about the 'touch' keyboard. I hate it on my tablet. At least on my office computer I have voice recognition software so I don't even type. Spoiled me.

Let me know how it turns out. I just use a bluetooth keyboard and a standard smart cover with mine. It works delightfully well, and offers some flexibility that having the keyboard affixed to the iPad doesn't really give... but it is a second item to carry around.

It's the second item part that I'm trying to avoid. It looks like a slim case so I hope it will work out well. The worst thing that might happen is I swap out the case if I'm not going to use the keyboard for a few days. The Help Desk meeting is only once a week and the 1 on 1 meeting with my manager is every other week. I don't know what other meets I might find myself in (probably a few of them). But I did seriously consider getting a little bluetooth keyboard. My friend at work has one that folds in half and with the case he has for his tablet, the keyboard just snaps down on top of it.

The keyboard case is leaving Chicago! Expected delivery is end of day Friday. I'm hoping to get it before I leave for work! Best case scenario, other wise I think I might have to wait until Monday?

Pictures have arrived!

Front of the case:

Back of the case:

Open case:

Open and set up in the middle notch:

It's only supposed to be powered on when the iPad is setup in one of the 3 notches. It's bluetooth so that's cool. The charge is supposed to last for quite a while depending on how much you use it. I've seen estimates of a month I think but I'll double check that. Either way I like it so far! I just have to get used to the small size.
