Smart Kitty?

This might just be a short post.

The past couple days I noticed that Mynx isn't just randomly jumping in the bathroom sink when I'm just standing at it. I realized that, after I picked up my tooth brush and then picked up my toothpaste she would come running. Usually she's just sitting by the door of my apartment and watching me (since my bathroom is just off the front door). So this morning I picked up my toothbrush and I could see Mynx watching me, but she didn't do anything. Then I picked up my toothpaste and was about to open it and that's when she jumped into action and hopped into the sink. She stood there with her front paws in the sink looking at where the water would come from and then she meowed at me. The meow that's like "okay, I'm here, where it the water?!?!".

So yea, she has this learned behaviour but it's not annoying or anything, it's kind of cute. The last time she tried this I actually ended up dancing about, kicking my feet out trying to block her from jumping into the sink. That sort of worked Smile

Would make a fantastic video I think. Can just visualize it. Sounds almost like a married couple as well. Razz

Ah, reminds me of a cat I used to have (Coco) who would only drink running water from a tap and would meow at me while sat in the bath so I would turn it on Smile
My current furry friend (Molly) totally ignores any water I put out for her in a bowl, I've actually got no idea where she gets fluids from in the 2 or 3 years she's chosen to hang out with me!

You need to surprise Mynx by filling the sink with water, go out and do something else then go back in to do your routine. Mynx will then get a splash surprise.
I did that with my cat. He liked to lay in the tub. I filled the tub with about 3 inches of water and waited for the splash. It was funny! His look could have killed! After that he would jump up on the side of the tub and reach in to check for water before going on in which was just too cute..

Stand, I can see that now. She jumps in, splashing water all over the place, including on me. Then she freaks out and runs off getting more water on me and around my apartment.

She also meows at me when I turn the water for the shower off. Then she jumps in past me to lap up the water that drips from the faucet. Even with a bath she will meow at me or hop up on the side and see what I'm doing.
