What Should I Do?

So while we were together and he was playing soccer I took a lot of pictures and videos of the games and of him. We're talking about 242GB of data... just sitting on my external hard drive...

I mean, we're never getting back together and I'll never see him or his team again...

Is this a form of baggage, a pile of bits and bytes? I'm not sure why I have to ask for help on this decision... I mean, it would stop be from looking back at him, seeing his face, hearing his voice in any of the videos. I won't have to endure painful memories of what I thought were good times...

What do you guys seriously think I should do? Why can't I make this decision to delete or not delete?

I don't think deleting it is going to help any of it. What you could do is to put it on a separate disk and keep it somewhere else, preferably out of immediate reach. You were just as great a part of those memories as he was, so if you really needed to refer back to it one day for different reasons, it would still be there.

I agree with Dean on this. Dump all that past on to a CD/DVD and then delete from the hard drive. Bury your copy somewhere.
Then again you could do like my 'mother' did. She threw out all the pictures and films of the family never asking if dad or I wanted them. There goes my past.

That's probably not a bad idea. I can stash that with my Formal pictures with my last bf. That container they're in was originally supposed to be a memory chest from my Band trip to New Orleans. I guess I just need a handful of DVDs for all that data. I mean, it makes sense because a lot of my time and effort went into it. Most of the videos I had to spend a few hours on going through the clips, piecing it together and add music and subtitles...

Thanks for the feedback guys.

If you like collecting memories, then in my opinion you should keep those pictures and if not you can already delete them.

Pictures, keep, put them aside.
Video, delete it... no one ever rewatches home video for any reason that is good Razz It's also occupying a lot more space per file.

Just my thought Wink
