Compare: Flash and Java

Flash
- Easier to code
- Cross-Platform
- Support for some phones
- More User-friendly GUI
- Easier IDE
- Less functionality
- Very high level

Java
- Harder to code
- Cross-Platform
- Support for most, if not all, phones
- Less User-friendly GUI
- Harder IDE
- More functionality
- Very low level

So for beginners, I would recommend Flash.
For more experienced programmers, I would recommend Java.

Although I think everybody knows this, I'm just proving why.

If you're programming for the web then I prefer Flash because it loads more quickly and 'feels' better, if you know what I mean. Of course, there are exceptions.

I was thinking of creating some physics applets but despite using various other languages for years and reading Java code listings, I haven't programmed in Java before. Is Java more efficient (in time) than Flash? I've always assumed that it is, but haven't checked this out.

A nice comparison though; quick and simple: the best way to put it.
