I've been holding on to this beast of a video card, my BFG 9800 GTX. Hot, loud, big and heavy but my goodness was it a great card in it's day. A new card was needed not because of my gaming needs but for rendering 3D scenes and other graphics/video-related duties. Being able to play new games at a decent frame rate and detail level is a nice benefit as well!
The card that is currently on it's way to me is the EVGA Geforce GTX660 FTW. It has 2GBs of ram, PCIe 3.0 and from the specs...
Base Clock: 1072MHz
Boost Clock: 1137MHz
Memory Clock: 6008MHz Effective
CUDA Cores: 960
I think I'll finally be able to play GTA San Andreas with the HD mod and highest settings! (Don't judge me )
If it's really good maybe I'll get another to SLI and play something new

The specs look pretty awesome, wow! How about sound? Are you using a special sound card? Or is it combined?

My sound card is an Asus Xonar D2X. If that died on me, I would buy another in a heartbeat.
