What did I learn today about programming?

Well, don't bother unless you are going to bother.

Programming can't be done half arsed. You can't just think, close enough. Close enough is not good enough. Close enough is a buggy program.

Always remember Lubarsky's Law of Cybernetic Entomology:
There's always one more bug.

And Troutman's Second Programming Postulate:
The most harmful error will not be discovered until a program has been in production for at least six months.

and, of course, the 2 Law Corollary:
Law 1: Every program can be optimised to be smaller.
Law 2: There's always one more bug.
Corollary: Every program can be reduced to a one-line bug.
