Yes, you read that right. Google has decided to dip its lovely little toes into the world of TV, but adding their own little twist. You all know about Netflix, I mean who doesn't. Well, think of Netflix, and replace it with Google. Now you have the right idea!
Google is not going into this alone, they have already acquired some partners, for example Sony. Sony has said that they will start manufacturing a TV that will support this new feature.
Some of the options, that will be included when you purchase a TV with this nifty little feature, will be the ability to surf the web to look for videos you want to watch online. You will also have the ability to watch full screen YouTube videos on your TV (I'm hoping in HD, but you cant always get what you want.) You will also be able to purchase movies and TV shows on demand.
Now, I hope I am not the only one who sees it, but the world of Video on Demand has started to get a little cut throat. With all the Hollywood Video stores closing, what are we going to expect next? I wouldn't be surprised if Blockbuster had to shut down for good as well.
I have always agreed with Google, and their choices, and I don't plan on stopping now. I have always been a big fan of the Android OS for phones (Owning a DROID, I know all to well how amazing it is), and now that Google is branching it to a new platform, I am very excited to see what comes next.
Thats all for now! Stay tuned!
