Judging from this post the 500,000 posts mark was reached on or around January the 12th last year, so it's taken roughly 522 days to accumulate another 250,000 posts. That's over 475 posts a day!

No. They have a huge backlog. I assume frihost has been in the queue for the last year or so. They do offer expedited review for a fee($20). They have some recommendations -- a test user they can try out the board with, and a clearly labeled stats page.
I think only the admins should consider submitting or updating requests for listing. In case they have not checked recently, here are excerpts from:

I haven't submitted it yet. I was waiting for a lot more than 500,000 posts in order to have more chance to be accepted (albeit it probably won't change a thing). I'll try to submit it in the next few weeks.
