Move/VPS 1 problems

If anyone has problems due to the move to VPS 1, please either comment here or ask for support in the support forums. The same for problems due to mysql 5.

To repeat again, you don't need to do anything for subdomains. The same for domains with nameservers and However if you use a dns service that uses our previous ip address ( as an A record (or similar) you will need to change it to your new ip address:!

Something important for the people who changed their dns settings, like mx records in their cPanel (server 1). It could be that the settings were lost due to the move and you'll need to change them back!

Thanks, I just updated the FriHost server status page ( to use the new IP address Smile
I'm having one problem: my username and password doesn't seem to work any more... Do you have any idea why?

Bondings, I don't know if its related to this or not, but my domain no longer works, and I can't access cpanel either. Thanks for the help.

Coolclay, the subdomain you provided seems to work fine for me. And so should cPanel. Maybe you added the ip address of the previous server to your hosts file?

As I've already told you over MSN, I'm still having the same problem (unable to access most sites on VPS1). I think it might be the same problem as Clayton (coolclay)

I have to admit, I am unfamiliar with what a host file is. I just read a bit about what they are, but I have no idea how to go about checking, or changing the host file to the proper IP address. I have tried accessing my site from other public computers on my campus and it works, but it doesn't work on either my laptop, or desktop. When I ping it, it returns fine, but I still can't access my site or cpanel.

The hosts file is usually in C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\ . You can edit it with notepad, it's a simple text file. The default case is with only localhost inside it.
