Points script reenabled, old server to be removed

I have re-enabled the points script. It's been almost (or even completely) 3 weeks that there were no points removed, I hope that's enough to make up for the server problems.
The old Server 2/3 (DirectAdmin still working on http://72.232.207.74:2222/ ) will be removed in a few days. If there are still any problems with your account after the move to the new server, please contact me as fast as possible!

Thanks for the points Bondings. Probably going to sound a bit strange, but I missed the script, almost the equivalent of being stuck in one day forever with night time never coming. Will be glad to see the 45 again.

I was wondering what was going on... I thought something was slightly out of place; guess I missed the announcement.

@yassercast, with script I simply mean a small piece of code for a specific job. In this case it's a php file.

@Bondings. I'm curious. Is there a rationale behind the specific timing of the day/night when the points are reset to 45? I seem to remember my points being reset like clock work at around 4:30 p.m. (GMT+4) Abu Dhabi, Muscat time during the late afternoon. For the last few months or maybe longer, (perhaps after the migration to the new Website in the States), I notice it is much later, around 9:30 p.m. (GMT+4) Abu Dhabi, Muscat night time. Just wondering, is it as simple as the time at which you do the script, determining the timing of the click over?

On the new server the timezone is set to the local one (usa timezone), while on the old one I set it to the central European timezone. And the cron job is executed on the server time, the hour stayed the same. This caused the change.
Bondings on Thu Apr 01, 2010 10:09 pm
For a little while I thought you had moved to the US as well. So only the timezone did.
deanhills on Fri Apr 02, 2010 9:13 pm
The servers are (and were) all in the USA. They just got moved to a different datacenter. (I might also get a server in a European datacenter once if I find a good one there.)
Bondings on Mon Apr 05, 2010 12:43 am
Would that entail another move or just for future expansions...?
wombatrpgs on Mon Apr 05, 2010 6:06 am
@wombatrpgs, no I was talking about the future. I've had enough of all those moves for the moment.
I simply wanted to clarify that the servers were in the USA, although there is no specific reason they are there, other than that the datacenters/companies I chose were all in the USA by chance.
Bondings on Mon Apr 05, 2010 12:30 pm
Phew! That's a relief. Must say though, I wonder whether there could ever be better datacentres than the US. The US must have the best centres in the world?

By the way, what exactly is the "penalty" or whatever system for negative points...? Can't seem to find it anywhere.
wombatrpgs on Sun May 23, 2010 5:53 am
@wombatrpgs, your hosting account can be removed. At the moment I'm not removing hosting accounts, so that's why there are a lot of people with negative points, but I'll get to it in a few weeks.

I feel so bad every time my points hit negative.. I'm just so glad that I get emails from frihost to get my priorities straight. Life gets me so caught up sometimes, I neglect my site a little
The kick in the rear with the fear of loosing my entire site is enough to at least stay above -10... lol. I'm so horrible
