Keeping out of the red in points

I read this in a blog post by dude_xyx at

If you have hard time doing it daily then I think the best way to earn lots of points is doing blog posts.

Well it is true. I can verify it has worked for me. I've been coming everyday after getting in the - 1xx it might as well have been -400 or it seemed that way. Well negitive points can be a little motivation I guess to start posting again. Why not I can use all the motivation I can get as long as it is positive. It is a better feeling though to be out of the red and post anyway.

It really does work getting into a habit by doing something everyday. Now providing that what you are doing is worthy of your attention then why not do that. Forming habits can be a bad thing but they can also be good.

I wasn't really sure about this blog though for I didn't and still don't have anything with a clear purpose to write other than rambling on like this.

Well let is serve as some record. if I think of another topic besides "A blog" which is rather self serving that captures my interest I'll just turn around and start using my new found habit for that purpose.

Every I suppose has a reason for being even rambles. Very Happy

Good to see you posting again, Bluedoll. I try to find a few post/blog to respond to everyday. I won't do a blog myself. Either nobody would want to read my ramblings or it would depress them.

That's the nice thing about blogs... you don't really need a clear purpose, nor an intent for discussion; really the chief audience can be... you. Whether others would be interested isn't really that big a deal, it's your blog Wink

My blog, I use for posting material that:
a) doesn't really fit in one of the forums
b) doesn't easily lead to a discussion
c) isn't really of interest to most forum users
... basically something I'd like to share, but don't expect much in the way of community engagement.

It's a little freeing to approach a blog this way, I think. You can approach the material any way you want (within the rules), and you're not really responsible for trying to make it something engaging if you're not feeling up to it. It's there for you, while the forums are there for you, but also there to directly engage with others.

Well I did get away from posting here standready and noticed my points very far into the negitive and decide that it was either time to shut down or do something about it. I decided not to take the easy way out and ask for a reset on points but to actually start coming again on a regular basis it worked.

That I suppose is teaching me something about getting success even in a small way. If you stick to something and put your mind to it and be regular then you can results. Good lesson I think and encourageing in a world where you can have to deal with a lot of disappointments.

Do you find you can used to disappointments as a way of life? That is something that can be depressing! There are so many ecomonic and social troubles we can get involved in these days. It is good to get accomplished now and then even if it is in smallish things like bringing up your points in frihost Smile).

It doesn't bother me if my blog isn't read for it is only a small blog and really I can accept that the topic is not that engaging for me. Those are good points Ankhanu. I especially agree with C. I'm not concerned if it never gets read but then it is here if I want to someday reflect back on it later on. Thanks for the comments.

Now the goal will be to bring up the points to the max and by the looks of it with posting going on every single day it shouldn't take to long. What then? What will be the goal?

I think rather than focusing on points and coins the goal will become a particular interest that I want to explore. Yes, I believe that is the way it works.

I'm looking forward to that Bluedoll. Glad to see you are posting actively now. Very soon posting at Frihost will be a habit and routine again.

Making blog comments is also an easy and quick way to earn points. However, I prefer to post in threads as it is more useful to the Frihost community.

I've gotten something out of my Blog which many of the posts in my blog actually say. How much a blog is of interest to other people might be questionable. Of course the same can be said of forum posts.

I think for forum posts to be of value the posts need to be appreciated by those that contribute and read.

I've seen a change from interest in General Chat mostly and a scattering of the other sub-forums to blogs. This last year blogs have become very popular, and one of the areas of the Forum that I visit much more frequently than I used to in the past.
