flu bug

Don't feel well. It's been that way for a while now. No, it will not affect computers just humans and I think it may not even do that now. Just reside in my body and make me feel lousy. I'll be glad when this is over and then maybe will be able to do something again and not be so feeling down. Winter flu bugs, nasty little things.

I'm half way through mine. One of life's real irritations. Hope you get better soon. Smile

I try to stay healthy and stay away from all the drugs out there. Someone told me to eat onions with honey. I missed that and settled for the normal stuff like drinking more liquids and more vit c plus some a few medicated candies. Maybe next time I'll try the onion thing or still can just for general health.

Yes part of living and our general build up our immune system strategy. Is it true if they gave you a shot in the arm for each and every bug out there you would have to take 10,000. Not sure about that but I do know I tend to look for healthy foods and living unless I really have to. Feeling better every day. Im good!

Glad I got a flu shot. It covers most flu strains or so I was told anyway. I hope Bluedoll and dean feel better soon.

I never took those shots and don't want to. I know that could be a mistake but some say they are good and others don't. I try to tell myself every time I get a bug and win, I am building up my immune system and will be better for it. But then maybe that is what the shots do anyway? So I don't know.

Its not so bad to be a bug person as I'm not stressed to be 100% - my performance rating is down, ok can live with that. I try to live natural without meds and shots etc. unless I get a bug that kills me, then I'll change my mind maybe... oops too late Laughing

Yup, that's what the shot does.
Basically, you get injected with weakened viruses that shouldn't be able to actually take over, your immune system recognizes them and builds up its defenses against it as it destroys the weakened viruses. Unfortunately, in occasional cases, either the virus hasn't been weakened enough, or the person's immune system is too weakened to deal with the weakened viruses and the person gets sick.

I don't bother with flu shots, but I have gotten shots for more dangerous infections, like meningitis. It depends on the threat level of the disease, really. H1N1 was a big media deal over the past couple years, but, as a disease, it was pretty weak sauce, so I didn't try to get a shot for it, for example.

Yeah, I don't really like the shot either. I was required to have one by the USO back when they still used the 'live' virus and it worked wonders as I was down three weeks with the flu and cancelled my tour. Now, not so bad.

I was watching a funny movie last night with friends and started laughing then coughing and sounding like I was dying which made the laughing increase, more coughing, other than that getting over this contagious..
