I don't see any changes in the webdesign or any feature in frihost. Bluedoll, you know anything?

Except for one thing. I don't see deanhills around anymore. Sad

less quality posts and a drop in contribution

Frihost is still active but a little quit. No debate going on. The noisiest people seems to be in vacation right now. The science forum was a little noisy for a while but it's silent now. I think it's Ocalhoun who's running the show right now.

But I'm quite sure that if you post in P&R, you'll get a little spanking from him->Bikerman(You're bestfriend).

Me? I'm busy with my websites and a little SEO here and there. But I still come here regularly. Smile

Yes, I think the leaving of Deanhills is a loss. Are you serious about posting under p/r? Sorry, forum moderation policy prevents it. Laughing

Yes, boards are quiet. I think many returned to school and their studies so time is limited for them.

The stats for August show there was a drop of about 1000 posts from the previous few months.
truespeed on Wed Aug 31, 2011 3:38 am
Thanks for the link to the stats as that is actual reality and yeah people to get busy and onto new events in their life thats true.

Wow 2006 was pretty active. I wonder what went wrong in the succeeding years.

According to the stats there's about 1/5 of drop from the previous month.

There is no doubt that there is a decline in postings considered as a long-term trend.

Deanhills doesn't appear to be currently posting and that will certainly have an effect on numbers since Dean was a fairly prolific poster. It doesn't really account for the trend, however. Dean typically posted around 150-200 posts per month.

Posts in 2011 are up on 2010 so although frihost will never again reach the post count of its early heyday, short term the the trend is an upward one.

I think Deans absence this month has had an affect, not just in his number of posts but the number of posts generated in replies to his posts.

The contests were a good idea to generate more posts/users,but there have only been 3 since they were introduced at the back end of last year.

I need to fix that graph - it is very misleading because I obviously included a partial or zero value at the end....
Bikerman on Sat Sep 03, 2011 2:18 am
Done...that's better.

Since this is MY blog, MY thread and MY piece of frihost I am there are no words available at the moment to put here in this space that would reflect what I want to express.

In this space, there seems to be an agreement that Deanhills contributed to this forum but little said about the reason of why he left. Instead focus is given to fixing shitty little graph lines. Mmmmmphf!

Me Me Me....LOL. You have the option to either allow or disallow comment on your blog. Since you chose to allow it then you can't really complain if people post things you don't want.

I don't really know why DH left. I can guess that he would blame me for victimising him, or something of the sort, but, since I didn't, I'm not going to loose much sleep over it.

Dean has threatened to leave the forums before because he doesn't agree with moderation of the p&r forum. My attitude remains the same now as it was then - if you want to leave then leave, but don't think that threatening to do so will force a change - I don't respond well to threats, and I'm pretty sure none of the other staff do either.

There is no evidence to suggest that he has left,he may like everyone else does from time to time just be taking a break from the forums.

Exactly when did I threaten to leave before? I want evidence for it Bikerman, as your comment suggests that I would have threatened you and/or the staff with my departure. And that is a bold faced lie.

When I left in May there had been no prior discussion with anyone about my departure, I left within minutes of making my decision. There had been ZERO PMs with any staff and most certainly not with you. About two weeks after my departure Bondings contacted me in one of the greatest PM's I'd received since joining Frihost. I'm here because of Bondings, and in spite of you.

When you made your ridiculous ruling in August, I obviously did not agree with your decision, which is exactly where you wanted to have me. No way was I going to discuss it with you, so there was ZERO correspondence with you. Since you were the only Moderator around, and there was no other recourse available to me, I made the only decision I could make. Which was to leave the Board. I did communicate my reasons to one other Staff and to Bondings. Which I believe was my right to do.
